PurposeAastra launches its XML Contest for SIP terminals. Participation is free and the aim consist of challenging programmer community and Aastra partners to develop innovative XML applications for the Aastra 6757i and 6739i SIP terminals and promote added value applications that can be used on these phones.
Each contestant may submit one or more entries in the categories listed above. The application source code must be made available to the community under the FreeBSD license (either over the website or any other third party page as a download). A link to a running version / Demo must also be included. Several factors will be considered when choosing the winners for each category, including the Aastra phone model for which the application was programmed as well as various technical requirements. A prerequisite to participate is that the entry is published under the BSD licenses. A list of existing applications already developed by Aastra and available for free on Asterisk based platforms will be available after registration. This will give you an idea how easy it is to implement new features and applications using XML, and could be a basis for your applications developments. Who can participate? All programmers worldwide who have XML, C/C++, C#, Java, Perl, Ruby, Visual basic, Python, .asp and PHP skills are invited to participate and to submit their entries. How to participate?Click on the link (http://support.aastra.fr/XMLContest/register.php) and fill the registration form with your e-mail address, address of residence. As soon as you have accepted the terms and conditions, you will receive an e-mail with your access codes for the website. This will allow you to get access to additional data and documentations about XML applications including relevant examples. Keep in mind…While programming your application, the source code must be published under the terms of the BSD-license. It is thus accessible for everyone and assigned to the public. Anyone can use or modify it, as long as they retain the copyright notice of the original author.
